Response to Chauvin Verdict

We at the School for Workers firmly believe that economic democracy without racial justice is neither democracy nor justice. Yesterday a Minneapolis jury found Derek Chauvin guilty in the murder of George Floyd. We mourn the death of Mr. Floyd and all the BIPOC who have lost their lives prejudicially to a criminal justice system that seemingly is left unaccountable for its actions (maybe crimes). We condemn racism in all its forms and manifestations and stand in solidarity with all who work to dismantle the ideological and structural underpinnings of hate in our society.

We stand with workers, individuals, communities, and all who are against the economic, social, and political structures that have allowed hate and racial violence to prey on us all.

Black Lives Matter.
