Friends:
As we move into the new decade, it’s hard to overstate the importance of the events swirling around us. In many ways we are all facing crossroads which have broad implications both for us and those who will follow. In these moments, I often reflect on a word we hear frequently – solidarity. Key to all our human endeavors together, it binds us as people and makes a just society possible. When problems feel like they are too big to solve, it is crucial to push against the reflex to succumb to indifference. Positive change is possible and happening every day. It is people like you working concretely to improve the world – beginning with our families, communities and places of employment – that are truly making a difference.
While it seems so much is in flux, one key fact you can continue to rely upon is the dedication and commitment of the School for Workers to work together with you to build and support workplace democracy. It is an honor to be a resource and partner to help you expand equity and fairness in the workplace. Never hesitate to contact us with any questions or if we can be of help in any way. On behalf of the faculty and staff here, we wish you all the best for 2020.
In Solidarity,
Michael Childers, Ph.D.
