Join us today at noon for the Labor Forward forum featuring Professor Paula Varela, from the University of Buenos Aires, and CONICET researcher. Professor Varela is an activist and renowned scholar who has worked closely with organized workers in the tire sector in Argentina. These workers led a huge strike in November 2022 against foreign companies like Bridgestone for better working conditions and safety (and won!).

The forum is a free, online series held on the third Wednesday of the month from 12:00 to 12:30 p.m. (CT). Each month, a School for Workers faculty member will interview advocates of the labor/worker movement to highlight their important work, celebrate their progress, and learn from their unique experiences. This event is free, but pre-registration is required to receive the webinar link.
