In 1936, Bob Travis was the organizer of the 44‐day Sit Down Strike against General Motors, which resulted in recognition of the United Automobile Workers. In July 1973, Bob spoke with School for Workers faculty member Frank Emspak about organizing the strike; his politics, the history of the UAW and much more. Emspak has compiled his original interviews with Bob and Helen Travis, with accompanying transcripts and a study guide.
