What are the things your union needs to get done before you sit down to negotiate with your employer? This 100% online class will guide you through the steps of preparing for collective bargaining in a way that positions you for success. You will learn:

  • The bargaining process
  • Factors that influence bargaining
  • Research
  • Developing a bargaining plan and campaign
  • Drafting proposals

This online institute utilizes class materials, short videos, activities, and student discussion in three one-week modules. Participants can access the course whenever it fits their schedule, 24 hours a day, 7 days a week. Participants will spend time working on their own during the weeklong modules, and there will be live class sessions on Zoom on Nov. 4, 11, and 18 from 10:00 a.m. – 12:00 p.m. Central Time.

What is a hybrid institute?

Hybrid institutes are structured into one-week units. Each unit comprises readings, short videos, activities, and student discussion boards to explore a set topic. Participants can access the course whenever it fits their schedule. Along with the self-paced activities, hybrid institutes also have scheduled, live classroom sessions online.
