Develop the tools and knowledge to be an effective union rep during the grievance and arbitration processes. This institute will prepare participants to investigate, write, and present grievances, plus draft and present arbitration cases. Participants will have the opportunity to practice and further develop what they learn in two live online sessions:
- Thursday, April 15, 4:00 – 6:00 pm (central) | Practice asking examination questions, opening statements, and closing statements.
- Thursday, April 22, 4:00 – 6:00 pm (central) | Present an arbitration case before an arbitrator.
Class Details
This is a three-week, blended online institute that blends self-paced learning activities (class materials, short videos, activities and student discussion boards in one-week modules) with live virtual classroom discussion. Participants can access the course activities 24/7. Two live online classes are scheduled for this institute on April 15th and 22nd from 4:00-6:00 p.m. central time. All registrants will receive support prior to the class start date addressing online learning best practices and how to easily navigate their online institute. Additionally, School for Workers faculty and staff will be available throughout your institute to help ensure your success!
